Welcome to the Rocky Mountain Vizsla Club

We are a group of Vizsla enthusiasts in the metro Denver area who participate in various activities with our beloved companions. We have many "open space" outings, snowshoeing, and hiking adventures throughout the year. Our members are also involved in various AKC events such as conformation, agility, rally, obedience, field trials, and hunt tests. Members are also actively involved in Vizsla Rescue. If you're looking to add a Vizsla to your family, our Breeder Referral Program can help you locate a responsible breeder in Colorado.

"To enjoy our Vizslas,

educate the interested,

and promote responsible ownership"

How to get involved

Join the Rocky Mountain Vizslas list - Go to, http://groups.yahoo.com/group/rmvizslas and subscribe. This isn't an "official" list exclusive to RMVC members, but we use it to keep members and nonmembers informed about club activities.

Participate - Come out and play with us at our various events, volunteer to work events, or propose an event you think we would all enjoy. This is a volunteer club--the more "working hands" the better!

Join the RMVC - If you would like to join the RMVC download our Constitution and Bylaws, the Vizsla Club of America Code of Ethics, and our membership application. Applications should be mailed to Chery Branson at: 6670 Youngfield Circle, Arvada, CO, 80004.

Contact us - Email us at info@rmvc.org with questions about the club, Finding a Responsible Breeder, or to ask any Vizsla related question.

Looking for a puppy?

Contact our Breeder Referral Program - Email Mel Reveles at info@rmvc.org or call Ginger Sammonds at 970.593.1711.

Make the commitment to add a Vizsla to your family the right way. Choose a responsible breeder. Our Breeder Referral Program can help you find a reputable breeder in Colorado or in another state.

The Colorado/Wyoming Vizsla Rescue Group (CWVRG) NEEDS your help!

Because of the abundance of irresponsible people breeding and selling Vizslas, the CWVRG is taking in more rescues than ever before.

This is very disheartening news.

But you can help by fostering a rescue Vizsla. Contact Rita Prindle, the CWVRG coordinator, or Alyssa McCluskey the assistant coordinator for more information.

SPECIAL EVENT!! SPECIAL EVENT!! SPECIAL EVENT!! SPECIAL EVENT!!

Saturday & Sunday, January 24 & 25 - 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. - - RMVC is hosting a AKC Judges' Seminar for Field Trials and Hunting Tests. Please download the flyer for additional information and to register.

NEXT EVENT - Saturday, December 13, 2008 - 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. - Annual Membership Meeting/Annual Holiday Party - Left Hand Grange, 2nd Ave. & Franklin St., Niwot, CO

Come join us for the Rocky Mountain Vizsla Club's Annual Party! We'll do a little business (vote in the new Board) and a lot of socializing. A highlight of the party is always the "white elephant" gift exchange. Bring as many gifts as you want to take home ($10 limit per gift). The party is pot-luck style so whip up your signature dish or drink (trust me, it will be very much enjoyed!).

New this year is a photo contest. Go back and sort through all of those fantastic photos you snapped of your crazy Vizsla(s) over the year and bring the best one (or two, or three!). We'll post the pictures on a poster board for everyone to enjoy.

Please RSVP to info@rmvc.org with your plans to attend and the food/beverage item you'll bring. Looking forward to seeing you!

RMVC Members -- Thank you for volunteering at our "Meet the Breed" booth at the Arapahoe Kennel Club's Pet Expo, September 14!!

Today was a most excellent day for the RMVC. The weather couldn't have been more appropriate for a day outside with the red kids, nor could the company (Vs and humans alike!) have been more enjoyable.

Thank you, thank you, thank you members for heeding the call to "step up" and for volunteering to work the "Meet the Breed" booth at the Arapahoe Kennel Club's Pet Expo today. We all lead busy, hectic lives which is why we're so grateful to those of you who gave up several hours today to come out and do the "Vizsla Show and Tell". You all were wonderful ambassadors of our breed today, helping those who stopped to visit with the red dogs understand why the breed is so wonderful and why they aren't the right breed for everyone. I enjoyed visiting with old friends (Vs and humans alike!), reconnecting with those I haven't seen in awhile and meeting others for the first time.

Thank you volunteers: Aaron Davis, Dale Hokens, Katherine Hokens, Sara King, Bryan King, Deanna Mielke and daughter, Ray Branson, Chery Branson, Ginger Sammonds, David Ligda, Andrea Rasizer and daughter Lindsay, Judy Hetkowski, Sarah Hunt, Christi Uhrig, Charity Harper, Tory Netherton, Catherine McHughs and son Daniel, Gerald Moore.

Thank you Breed Information Committee Members Ginger Sammonds and Judy Hetkowski for helping organize the many details of the booth. Your dedication to the RMVC is much appreciated!
