Brags: February 27 & 28, 2010 "Cim'r" teamed up with Cindy Pescod and Melissa Thomas to earn 1,2,3,4 Master Hunter legs at the combined Cochise Bird Dog Club and Southern AZ GSP Club's tests. Cindy took the morning braces each day, and I ran the afternoon braces. Fairly good weather on Saturday, but by Sunday sleet and snow roared in. Cim'r was up for "making game". It was an absolute blast, and I'm thrilled to have shared the teamwork!

Brag: AGILITY EXCELLENT B FAST QUALIFIES!! DOUBLE Q!! FIRST PLACE!! This past weekend Feb 12-15 at the CKC Agility Trial Chili earned her first 2 Q's in EX B FAST with a 1st and 4th place finish. On Sunday Chili received her 6th Double Q (of 20 needed for her MACH) and overall she received another 41 MACH points towards the 750 points required for MACH (she now has 458 MACH points total). Chili was owner trained and handled by Dale. Way to GO!!!

Dale ran Chili in the Samoyed Club Agility trials last January 17-18. She earned her third leg and her NEW Open Standard title (OA) with a second place finish on Saturday (January 17th). On Sunday (Jan 18th), she earned the first leg of her Open JWW with a second place finish. On Monday (January 19th) Chili competed in the Longs Peak Dog Training Club trials in Obedience. She earned the last leg and her new Novice Obedience (CD) title with a first place finish. Her score of 195.5 also won the prize for "High Score in Trial" from the "A" Classes. Congrats to the dynamic duo Chili and owner/handler/trainer Dale!

In just her fourth field trial and with 12 days to her 2 year birthday, (thus being ineligible to run in Derby after she turns 2 years old) Amante won the 'Derby Blue' at the Texas Panhandle Pointing Breed Club walking field trial. The win gave Amante her first Amateur Field Championship (AFC) point. She was owner trained and handled by Aaron.

Brag: 3RD PLACEMENT IN OPEN GUN DOG RETRIEVING MAJOR STAKE!!  Remus was awarded 3rd place in the Open Gun Dog Retrieving major stake at the Texas Panhandle Pointing Breed Club walking field trial. Remus made it around the course clean with 3 finds and got a callback for the retrieve. Holding through a difficult callback situation, Remus was steady and had a solid retrieve! The next day he ran even better and got a 'call back' in the Amateur Gun Dog Retrieving major stake (after watching the bird run around the situation was TOO much for an intense boy like Remus and he broke on the third shot). Remus was owner trained/handled by Aaron.

At the tender age of 8.5 months, Trip went "four for four" to complete her Junior Hunter title in 4 consecutive passes! Mindful not to push young pups too hard, having Trip complete her JH title at such a young age wasn't the goal when deciding to run her but, Trip has exceeded expectations and continues to be an absolute joy. Proving she truly knows "whoa", Suede handled a total of 8 stop to flush situations over the weekend. Even more incredible was that all but one of the stop to flush situations were on coveys of quail. Super exciting for a bird dog! She also handled a blind retrieve situation on Sunday like a seasoned bird dog, searching for the downed bird and retrieving it to hand. Suede was owner trained and handled.

Rain earned his first two legs for junior hunter at the Missouri Valley Gordon Setter hunt test at Crab Orchard, NE on October 11 and 12.  But MOST important was that John Masinelli, age 13 year old, trained and handled Rain for both of his legs.  This was Rain's and John's first hunt test, and is John's first hunting dog.

Brag: JUNIOR HUNTER QUALIFIES!! Not expecting the lil' Punkin to do much more than have one helluva a good time, Aaron put Trip down for her first run in a hunt test on Saturday at the Nebraska Vizsla Club. She had lots of fun trying to catch grasshoppers, asking her bracemate if he wanted to play, visiting with the judge and his horse...and then they hit the bird field. She picked up scent and immediately got down to business. She found her bird (held her point and didn't even try to chase the flushed bird!) on Saturday when over half of the Master and Senior level dogs went birdless. Having learned what the game was all about the day before, she got right down to business on Sunday and hunted her entire brace. She pointed her bird from approximately 20 yards away, qualifying for her second leg toward her Junior Hunter title!

Their first one on Saturday earned her second Novice Agility (NA) leg with a qualifying score of 85 (out of 100) and first place. They qualified for their third and final NA leg on Sunday with a score of 100 and first place again. Chili Pepper now has her first agility title -- "Novice Agility (NA)". This weekend was Dale's very first time in the show ring with Chili. Team Chili did a wonderful job.

In Standard, Novice A the dynamic duo got a score of 95 for second place (only two teams qualified in their division). In Jumpers w/ Weaves the team scored 100 for second place with a time of 25.19 seconds. The courses were harder than expected, but they adapted just fine! Chili was owner trained by Katherine and Dale and handled by Katherine. From a very proud Katherine, "I love running Chili because she is so enthusiastic and motivated to go fast and furious. She really likes doing it."
